Affirmations, to some, are believed to be a bunch of crazy talk! However, we use affirmations all the time. Our thoughts and words are creating our attitudes every day about how we feel about ourselves and our lives.
We make positive and negative comments daily without consideration of how they impact how we feel or view your circumstances -or ourselves.
“Affirmation: (1.) the act or an instance of affirming (to state or assert positively); state of being affirmed. (2.) the assertion that something exists or is true. (3.) something that is affirmed; a statement or proposition that is declared to be true.” ~Dictionary.com
When I have personally gotten from affirmations is a quick change in perspective. I could feel down about myself one moment and after stating a few affirmations related to my goals and who I want to become -my whole outlook changes.
Remember the plant experiments in school? You can talk positively or negatively to a plant and it will either flourish or wither away based on what you have said to it. We are no different. What we think and say does matter.
When you are in the midst of positive or negative people they both have an effect on you-they can either draw or repel you and impact the way you think. Positive people live you feeling good or empowered whereas negative people can incite anger, destructive behaviors, or thoughts.
The way you talk to yourself can cause you to win or lose. When you are losing ground a few phrases can energize you after you have become physically or mentally burnt out.
Affirmations work-words are powerful they can build or destroy.
- Industries are built on the basis of words.
- Words have an effect on your buying behavior.
- Words can determine who you’ll vote for.
- Words can empower us to act or sit down.
Don’t take words for granted. Use words to create life for your business, your family, your future, and yourself.
“I’ve reached income goals, obtained lucrative contracts, made coveted connections and sealed many deals using this practice…This incredible, simple, powerful tool is one that you use every day: the words of your mouth.” ~Dr. Stacia Pierce, lifecoach2women.com
Don’t belittle the power of words-affirm you have achieved a goal you are afraid of. Save the affirmation daily soon you’ll become more confident about the person you want to become. It could be as simple as:
I am a successful entrepreneur!
I am a highly regarded author!
Your affirmations should be your goals written out in present tense-starting with the words I am or I have.
I have all the resources I need to build my business!
I am smart enough to…
Affirmations help your brain to believe what you tell it-if you are consistent. Affirmations are a tool to help you accomplish your goals; they are a puzzle piece to the big picture of accomplishing your goals.
They are useful to achieving your goals because it helps to transform your mindset so that your behaviors line up with your goals.
“Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.”~ Jim Rohn
Affirmations are more effective when stated out loud in a tone that affirms you believe what you’re saying. Saying you feel good in a depressed tone will not help-pretend you feel good and say it with enthusiasm and conviction.
You’ll feel a bit crazy at first but once you reap the benefits- you will be willing to state your affirmations more willingly.
